Make Your Relationship Stronger with This One Simple Question

January 10, 2025

Let’s be real — most of the advice we give isn’t rocket science. We’re not totally reinventing the wheel over here!

That said, one of our guiding principles that sets us apart and makes our relationship stronger is to keep things as DO-able as possible.

You can read all the relationship books in the world, but if you don’t know how to put that information into action… it’s just another self-help trophy gathering dust on your shelf… and nothing’s going to change.

And the truth is… it’s the simplest, smallest things that make the biggest impact in our relationships.

Life gets busy. We can convince ourselves that we need over-the-top, grand gestures to reconnect (like if it’s not a string-quartet serenading you over dinner… why bother???).

But honestly? The magic is in the small, regular moments of connection.

Xander is smiling and looking at Vanessa who is also smiling.

Think about it:

What’s one small thing you could do for your partner every day to make them feel loved?

And what’s one small thing they could do for you?

Here’s an example from us:

  • Vanessa knows Xander lives for hugs. If she gives him a spontaneous squeeze — no words — it absolutely lights him up like she just handed him a winning lottery ticket. He usually responds with something like, “Oh my god, that was so sweet. I love you so much!” (Big hug energy over here, you guys.)
  • For Vanessa, it’s when Xander says out of the blue, “I really love you.” No fanfare, no skywriting, just some heartfelt words of affirmation that make her feel seen and appreciated.

It doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming! A post-it note on the bathroom mirror… a surprise coffee run… these little acts of love and kindness add up in big ways!

So whether you’re in a good place and want to get even closer, or you’re navigating a tough time and looking for a fresh start… ask yourself…

What little thing could I start doing today?

Start today. And hey, your relationship might just feel a whole lot sweeter tomorrow.

hey there!
