I was recently given the opportunity to try out the Sol Sonic Vibrator by Revel Body. The Sol is a clitoral vibrator for women. Instead of a standard motor used by most sex toy manufacturers, Revel Body uses the same type of technology used by Clarisonic facial brushes and Sonicare toothbrushes.

The Sol is orb-shaped, and comes with three separate attachments, each which delivers a slightly different sensation (more tips are available for purchase separately). There are six speed settings.

I have to be honest – I wasn’t blown away by the Sol at first. It didn’t seem very powerful compared to other vibrators I’ve reviewed, and boy is it noisy! I thought it would be best suited as a first vibrator for a sex toy newbie, or for women whose clitorises are too sensitive for more powerful vibration.

Then I talked to a representative from Revel Body, and was encouraged to try the Sol underwater. I learned that you can turn the Sol around and hold the back end of the vibrator against your clitoris. The magnetism creates a gentle suction against your skin. The sensation was game-changing! As my friend Victoria from Filthy Dirty puts it, the Sol creates the best bath ever! There’s really not another product out there quite like it!

The Sol works pretty well as a massager for other parts of your body, and can be used during foreplay.

Three of the settings deliver a more rumbly type of vibrations, and the other three create more of a buzzing sensation. Having the variety is nice, since different women like different types of stimulation.

The separate attachments are fun to play with, and deliver unique sensations. Again, this makes the Sol versatile.

 

What I didn’t

This baby is LOUD! It’s not a great choice for someone who has roommates.

It’s a little unwieldy. It didn’t fit in my hand very well (but I have tiny hands!).

The vibrations travel up into your hand a bit too much for my liking.

It’s not particularly powerful, so it’s not a great choice for women who love strong vibration.

 

All in all, I think this is an interesting and unique  new addition to the sex toy world. Thanks to Revel Body for giving me the chance to experience the Sol!
